Phuket Airport
With all these tourists coming every year, Phuket needs a good infrastructure with ports and a huge airport. Recently we opened a new airport, connecting both airports to each other which doubled the capacity from 6 to 12 million. We asked mister Boon Yongsakul for other projects.
International airport Phuket
The second part of the airport was built in 2016 and most people refer to the 2 airport buildings as “the old” or “the new” one. But this will change in the near future as the Thai government will built a completely new airport. Tourism is so important for Thailand, that they decided it is time for a second airport for the capital of tourism in Thailand, Phuket.
The building plans are already approved and the airport will be built outside of the island Phuket, on the main land. Normally they start constructing in 2021 with 2017 as deadline. The A 380 airbus can’t land in Phuket, because the runway is not long enough. At the new airport this won’t be a problem.
